The institution is organised as digital policlinic and will soon start working as International Telemedicine Center on Internet.
Professional informatics center in the building is equipped with 4 servers on Internet and Intranet connecting 60 working places. This system processes and stores digital patients records from physicians PCs and medical equipment.
All patients records and images are stored in digital format according to international standards (Dicom and HL7). Implemented telemedicine system has obtained international approvals by Food Drug Administration (FDA USA) and European Community. The access to the patient data is regulated according to international laws about patient records confidentiality and secrecy.
Each patient has digital health card stored on the servers with all medical data in digital format (patient history, diagnostics-therapeutics data - 24-hour ECG and arterial pressure, exercise test, spirometry) and images (3-dimensional Color Doppler ultrasound, video colposcopy, penisoscopy, microscopic dermoscopy of moles and hair).
Old documentation will be scanned and enclosed in elelctronic card.
Patient may get complete medical report with all images on the paper or on CD-Rom, in Croatian and English language. Patients data can be also seen on Internet server by any physician in the world, if authorised by the patient, which is the only one which has the authorisation to allow the access to her/his digital card. Whole program is based on very rigorous system of the confidentiality and secrecy of patient digital data.
In near future, teleconsulations and second opinion by Croatian or international experts will be available at the patients request.
